Katavi National Park Overview
Katavi National Park is the third largest national park in Tanzania, it lies in the southwest of the Tanzania within a truncated arm of the Great Rift Valley Escapement that run from the Red sea to the mouth of Zambezi river some 6500kms long. During the dry season the floodwaters dries and Katavi National Park comes into its own beauty. There are many wildlife in the area which includes among others, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, and many other. The most distinctive animal in Katavi National Park is Hippopotamus and towards the end of the dry season, up to 200 individuals can be seen together in any river pool with sufficient water.
