Best Time to visit Rwanda

The Dry Season (June to September) is generally considered the best time for a Rwanda Safari. It’s also the perfect time to observe mountain gorillas. Because the hiking trails are great and there’s a low risk of malaria.

But, you can also visit Rwanda in other seasons. But it may be more difficult to trek up the mountains, so have all the necessary equipment handy.

Wildlife of Rwanda

The National Park of Akagera is home to a variety of animals. They include Antelopes, Zebras, Monkeys, Elephants, Cape Buffaloes, Baboons, Giraffes, and many more. While Volcanoes National Park is home to approximately one-third of the worldwide population of mountain gorillas.

There are several primates in Nyungwe Forest as well. They include the famous chimpanzees, colobus, golden, silver, vervet, re-tailed, and Hamlyn’s monkeys. As well as olive baboons and mangabeys.

Birdwatchers won’t be disappointed too, as there are over 650 species of birds in Rwanda.

Entry Requirements

There is no longer a requirement for Covid-19 testing before boarding a flight to Rwanda. Yet, routine Covid-19 testing is advised.

1. Having a covid-19 vaccination certificate with you will be useful.

2. Each visitor must have a passport that is valid for at least six months.

3. You can obtain multiple-entry tourist visas at the embassy or consulate of Rwanda in your area.

Having a gorilla trekking permit is necessary when visiting various national parks. And, bear in mind that children under the age of 15 aren’t allowed on gorilla treks.
