Kigali extends across several hills and valleys, with good road links to the rest of the country. Situated in the far northwest of Rwanda, Volcanoes National Park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range – home of the endangered mountain gorilla and a rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp, and health.

Itinerary
Welcome to Rwanda! The country of a thousand hills. On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be assisted by Airport personnel to the arrival Covid – 19 Testing Center inside the Airport. After the test, you will be assisted to the Airport exit where you will find our Sista Safari Travel Partner who will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast
After breakfast, your Driver Guide will pick you up from the hotel reception to transfer you to Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum. Kigali Genocide Memorial this is an extremely moving, challenging, educational, and ultimately inspiring memorial and a great place to understand the cause, tragedy, and successful rebuilding post-genocide. The tour is very transparent and educational but very somber and humbling when you realize that over 250,000 deceased are buried on the site of the memorial. After this activity, we will proceed to Volcanoes National Park. The 2.5-hour transfer will ascend through the endless mountains and hills and provide excellent opportunities for scenic photographs as you pass through the local villages and farms.

Today, experience a trek where you will be up close and personal with the rare mountain gorillas. There are only around 1063 of these magnificent creatures left in the world with 1/3 in the Volcanoes National Park. The trek can take between 2-6 hours depending on the movements of the animals. This is considered one of the great natural animal encounters on the planet. After lunch, we will start our 2.5 hours scenic transfer to Kigali, upon arrival, we will proceed to the Kimironko Market. This market is known for souvenirs, handcrafts, African fabrics, fruit, and vegetables. After the market visit, you will later transfer to the airport for your flight onwards.
