Welcome to Rwanda! The country of a thousand hills. On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be assisted by Airport personnel to the Arrival Covid – 19 Testing Center inside the Airport. After the test, you will be assisted to the Airport exit where you will find your Sista Safari Travel Partner who will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Onomo Hotel
Meal Plan: Bed &Breakfast
After breakfast, embark on a two-hour transfer to the Katuna Border Post with Uganda and you will be required to present your COVID –19 vaccination certificate or PCR results before crossing the border and drive for another three hours to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. After checking in, you will have a hot lunch and then proceed for an afternoon game drive. Queen Elizabeth National Park is famous for its high numbers of Elephants and pride of lions. In the evening, we will drive towards Kazinga Chanel for a sundowner Boat Safari.
Kazinga Channel Boat Safari: Kazinga joins Lakes Edward and George, it has Africa’s highest concentration of Hippos, crocodiles, and water buffalo. Birdlife is amazing and plentiful. You will also see large mammals like elephants who come to the river for a drink. In the late afternoon, head back to your lodge.
Overnight: Enganzi Game Lodge
After an early breakfast, you will head to the nearby Kalinzu Forest Reserve where the rangers will give you a trek briefing before you head off to find these magnificent creatures. The Kalinzu Chimpanzees are considered extremely reliable with a trekking success rate of over 95%. In Uganda, efforts to actually conserve the chimpanzees are extensively acknowledged and well supported. The Jane Goodall Foundation has played a major role in the overall conservation of these Chimpanzees. Expect to end the trek around 11 am. After the trek, we return to your lodge to freshen up and have lunch before departing for a 5-hour transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Overnight: Bakiga Lodge
Meal Plan: Full Board
After breakfast, you will be driven to the Uganda Wildlife Authority Bwindi Park Headquarters. The early morning briefing starts at 8 am and the rangers will give you information on the trek, gorilla behavior, and rules. The advanced tracking group gives your guides indications of where the gorillas were located the night before, however, these creatures constantly move in search of food so the trek can take 2-6 hours in total. Gorilla Trekking is often described as one of the greatest animal encounters on the planet. There are only around 1063 Mountain Gorillas left in the world and Bwindi has almost 1/3 of them. From here we begin the 4.5-hour transfer back to Kigali arriving around 5 pm.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your flight onwards.
