Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park lies a little bit to the south east of Lake Manyara National Park with an area of about 2,850 square kilometers. The landscape and vegetation is incredibly diverse with a mix that is not found anywhere else in the northern safari circuit. The hilly landscape is dotted with vast numbers of Baobab trees, dense bush and high grasses. Being famous for its number of elephants and the giant baobab trees the park is home to more than 550 species of birds that inhabit the park during both wet and dry season.
Huge termite mounds can also be seen dotting the landscape. Tarangire like Lake Manyara National Park is one of the national parks that are most visited due to its easy access about 120km from Arusha on the paved good road taking about 2hours drives. many visitors do a day trip game viewing in the park returning back to Arusha in the evening.
